P1 Compute Workshop: Version control systems and reproducible science

Join us at the Pioneer Centre for AI as Nick and Tommy teach a practical workshop introducing participants to version control systems and reproducible science.

Nick will give a from scratch introduction to git, while also supplying exercises both for newcomers and experienced git users. We will cover concepts such as branches, diffs, staging and tips & tricks will all be examined. Git is highly useful both as a means of backing up your code, but also as a tool for collaboration and publication of your code.

Tommy will examine topics in data management and planning.

Nick Rübner Papior is an HPC consultant at DTU’s computing center and holds a PhD. Nick also teaches in DTU’s Large Scale Modelling course.

Tommy Sonne Alstrøm is an associate professor at DTU’s section for Cognitive Systems and teaches in DTU’s Machine Learning for Signal Processing course.
